Frequently Asked Questions

What does having a subscription mean?

We understand that the cost of ambulance services can be expensive, which is why we offer a subscription program that can help ease the burden of payment. For an annual fee, our subscription program provides complete peace of mind. Most insurance companies only pay a portion of the bill for ambulance services. This means the person being treated would be responsible for the remaining balance. With a subscription, our association will forgive the balance of your invoice, and accept only the payment from the insurance company.

Why do I have to pay the bill if I wasn't the one who called 911?

The individual being treated is the person responsible for the bill regardless of who called 911.

Do I get the "Senior Discount"?

There is no "Senior Discount" offered for people over the age of 65. However, purchasing an annual subscription can give you peace of mind knowing that you wont be responsible for the remaining balance after the insurance company pays.

Why is my insurance being billed when I was not at fault for the accident?

Generally, Pennsylvania has No-Fault car insurance laws, meaning regardless of who is at fault for the accident, the person being treated is the person whose car insurance is responsible for their medical expenses including ambulance services.

What if I am unable to pay my bill all at one time?

No worries, we accept payment plans and will work with you to figure out what you can afford. As long as you are making regular attempts to pay off your account balance, it will not be sent to collections.

I have a membership with a different service, why did Ebensburg respond?

If your primary ambulance service is on another incident at the time of your emergency, the next closet available service will be sent to provide you help. With this being said, Ebensburg Ambulance will honor the subscriptions of another ambulance service when traveling outside of their own coverage areas.
